The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go. Dr. Seuss
It’s that time of year when temperatures start dropping and for many wrapping up in a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate and a book is a favorite pastime so I wanted to share some of my favorite books.
I love reading so this list could go on and on but these are a few that I recall never wanting to put down.
Little Black Girl Lost by Keith Lee Johnson – This is a series and falls second as my all time favorite. I actually listened to this on CD and I would find myself sitting in the car in front of my house.
Casting the First Stone by Kimberla Lawson Roby – This is the first book in a series all about the Rev. Curtis Black. There are several books in this series and they are all good. Make sure to read in order.
Good in Bed & In Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner – I might relate to one of the characters in each book. Also, In Her Shoes was turned into a movie and overall I was pretty impressed with it.
Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophia Kinsella – I may love this book and can relate a little to much. This is also a series…make sure and read this one first.
The Deal, the Dance, and the Devil by Victoria Christopher Murray – Listen…this book right here will have your mouth wide open. It’s a must read. Victoria Christopher Murray has a boatload of books and you honestly can’t go wrong with either, but this one right here is so good.
Last but not least my FAVORITE book ever…The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah.
The sequel to The Coldest Winter Ever finally came out a few years ago… A Deeper Love Inside, The Porsche Santiaga Story. It is nowhere near as good as the first one, but if you need closure like I did it is worth a read.
Let me know if you have read any of these and where they fall on your list of favorites.
Happy Reading!
